It's time again for the annual end of summer picnic and Sig Series #1 -- Softball!
This year's picnic will be at Grover Cleveland Park in the Essex Fells section of Caldwell, NJ on Saturday, September 9th.
The festivities will begin at noon. The softball game will be played first followed by the BBQ picnic. If you want to brush up a bit with some softball practice, I'm sure a bunch of people will show up a little early for that. This is always an event packed with youngsters running this way and that, so plan on bringing the kids because they have a great time.
The cost for the BBQ is $5 a head for all adults that are not dues paying 2000-01 Alumni Association Members with pre-paid events at their dues level (B or higher). Kids under the age of 10 or 12 or something like that are free as always.
A NEW TWIST: For brothers not into softball (and those that are too), this year we plan to use the open spaces of Grover Cleveland Park to play Bocce as well. We're looking at having at least 3 bocce sets, and if you have anoher bring, it would surely be appreciated. If there's enough interest, a 2-person team double elimination round robin tournament will be set up.
The park is in Caldwell at the intersection of Runnymede Road and Buttonwood Road; the best parking is located on Buttonwood Road.
