Third Annual Alumni Association Camping Trip

Friday, July 27 to Sunday, July 29 at Promised Land State Park, Pennsylvania

The 3rd Annual Alumni Association Camping Trip will be July 27-29 at Promised Land State Park in Promised Land, Pa. Yes, that's the same park where the trip was held last year.

It's in northeast PA about 2 hours from Newark. The park offers 2 lakes for fishing, boating, and swimming. There are sporting fields/courts, miles of hiking trails, and also playgrounds for children. The land has some history as well as it was built upon an old CCC camp and also upon land once 'promised' (hence the park's name) by the US to a group called the Shakers.

People will be arriving Friday morning, and staying through Sunday, but feel free to come and leave whenever. Pets are allowed as well for a small extra cost per night.

If you want to go, want more info, or need camping gear, just let me know. Letting me know if you're coming is important as reservations will be made for the trip, and we hope to get all adjoining campsites. Reservations and food will all be taken care of for the trip, leaving you with the only the responsibilities of:

1. Letting me know you're coming
2. Packing
3. Getting there

If you do not tell Dave Barker you are coming (by sending email to puckhead519@yahoo.com), and arrive unannounced, you will NOT HAVE A PLACE TO STAY.

Contacting Dave in advance at puckhead519@yahoo.com is a absolute requirement if you plan on attending.

Easier Directions:

• Take Route 80 to Route 15N.
• Route 15 turns into Route 206 N.
• Go 16 miles on 206, and turn slight right onto 209.
• Stay straight to get on Route 6
• Merge onto Route 84W
• Take the PA-390 exit, exit number 7, towards PROMISED LAND STATE PARK/TAFTON.
• Turn LEFT onto PA-390. Park entrance is on the right. 4-6 miles down.

Alternative Directions:

• I-80 W into PA.
• Take the US-209 NORTH exit, exit number 52, towards MARSHALLS CREEK(PA-447 N)
• Merge onto SEVEN BRIDGE RD. Go 3.7 miles.
• Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto US-209.
• Turn LEFT onto PA-402.
• Turn LEFT to take the I-84 WEST ramp.
• Take the PA-390 exit, exit number 7, towards PROMISED LAND STATE PARK/TAFTON.
• Turn LEFT onto PA-390. Park entrance is on the right, maybe 4-6 miles down.
