It is time once again for our annual Alpha Rho Chapter Alpha Sigma Phi Convention. Convention '98 is once again being held in Point Pleasant, New Jersey at the VFW Post Hall. Though the main agenda is set for Saturday, May 30th, you can also make a weekend of it by staying at the hotel on Friday night through Sunday. It will also mark the final Sig Series event, beach volleyball, even though the alumni already won the Sig Series 4-0.
This year, there are a few more choices than in previous years. If you seek to stay at the hotel, you may reserve a room through Alpha Sigma Phi at the Colonial Motel, or you may choose to find your own accommodations. Likewise, there are options for dinner as well. You may choose to pre-pay a nominal fee for dinner, which will give you a limited selection of items but will also include appetizer, non-alcoholic beverage, tax and tip. If you feel that you don't want to be restricted by this, you may still attend dinner but pay on your own. We are also trying to target more events for the kids. While Friday night, May 29th, might be the night for some to hit the bars, the night of May 30th will be the opportunity for the kids to stay in and watch some Disney movies. For more information on these events and the full schedule of events, please browse through the attached Convention packet.
If you are attending the Convention, please return the registration form that is enclosed in the Convention mailer sent out at the beginning of May. Also, please bring the registration packet with you when you attend the Meeting of the Members, as it contains the ballots for the upcoming elections.
If you can not attend the Convention, you need to send your proxy vote. Proxy ballots are enclosed in the Convention mailer and can be returned in the reply envelope. Just send your ballot to the post office box and cast your vote for next year's Board of Directors.
ALL RESPONSES ARE DUE BY MAY 15, 1998.
If you wish to reserve a hotel room or pre-pay for dinner through Alpha Sigma Phi, you must have your responses in by the above date, no exceptions. If you have any questions regarding this year's Convention, contact Glenn Arbesfeld, Convention Chairperson, at (732) 393-0522, or by e-mail at tardy491@aol.com.
Fraternally yours,
