Dear Brother:
My, how quickly a year passes. It seems like just yesterday we were frolicking on the white sands of Pt. Pleasant beach after a very productive Meeting of the Members, and now, it is once again that time of year!
The convention will once again be held at the VFW Post hall, located in sunny Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey during the first weekend in June. Mark down June 4-6 on your calendar, and get ready to have some fun. The meeting itself will take place on June 5th starting at 10:30am sharp. If you arrive early, feel free to come to the VFW at 10:00 for some coffee and doughnuts (just like the ones we all used to sell during night class!) and to see some of the other early-risers in the fraternity. After the meeting, there will be a picnic/barbecue, and finally, Sig Series 7, beach volleyball.
At the meeting we will be electing 3 members to the board of directors as well as President and Vice President. Please see the enclosed ballot and start thinking about your selections. If you are planning to attend the meeting, please bring the ballot with you; if you are unable to attend, please mail the proxy ballot in the enclosed pre-addressed envelope postmarked no later than May 30.
However, the Convention is about much more than just the meeting. It is a great weekend getaway for you and your family. The picnic/barbecue is open to families and there are plenty of activities to do (planned and unplanned) down at the Boardwalk. After the beach volleyball game, brothers and their families will meet and go to dinner. This is a great way to reminisce about old times and catch up on new ones. Please see enclosed itinerary sheet for a detailed account of what is planned for the weekend.
If you decide you would like to make a weekend out of it, we will have some rooms reserved at the Colonial Motel, located only two blocks from the beach and the meeting site. The hotel also has a pool and while small, has been accomodating to us over the past few years.
We are striving to make this meeting and convention the best it can possibly be. This depends on you. While it is true that your attendance is optional, your responsibility is not.
