... that 25 guys from the newly-inducted Alpha Rho colony / "radio frat" (which
eventually became the Alpha class) held it's first retreat/meeting at Joe
Plescia's summer home in High Point, NJ. At this meeting, the Alpha class
basically planned out what Alpha Rho is today! Officers, committees, finances,
structure, housing and what kind of beer to buy were all decide at this historic
meeting on Saturday, June 6, 1981. It was one hell of a meeting! The BBQ started
Friday night and we partied until sometime on Sunday.

This meeting also became the predecessor for what was to evolve into our annual
Conventions and Meeting Of The Members.

If anyone was ever curious as to why the annual meeting is required in our
Constitution to be held on the first Saturday of June at 7pm, it was to honor
this first meeting.

Cheers to all my Alpha pledge brothers who were at Plescia's 20 years ago this
evening. I'm having a beer with dinner tonight and I'll be toasting the Alpha
class. I may even blast a little of The Clash's 'London Calling' to honor
Popper...
