Alpha Rho Undergraduate Chapter Meeting Minutes Email List

We have an mailing list which reaches all subscribed brothers of Alpha Rho. All mail messages sent to the list are kept online automatically, in a digest. You can read all the old mail messages here.

It's simple to join, and an automated system handles all your requests.


Before you can send or receive mail from the list, you must first subscribe

Simply send a mail message to the following address:

majordomo@alphasig.org

with the following in the body of the message (NOT the Subject line).

subscribe ug-minutes

You will receive an automatic reply with instructions on how to send mail to the list, send commands to the mail server, and more.



Sending mail to the list

Note that the keep the list somewhat secure, ONLY members who are subscribed can send mail to the list. Since MANY people read every message sent, please keep your message brief, and related to fraternity subjects only. Remember that nearly a hundred people will read what you send -- please be considerate of their time.

Once you've subscribed, you can send mail to everyone on the list, by sending your mail message to:

ug-minutes@alphasig.org



Keeping the list up to date (or, please clean up your mess)

If you are changing email addresses, don't forget to first unsubscribe your old address, before subscribing your new address. Otherwise, mail messages get returned to the editor, who then has to go fix the mailing list by hand. This does not endear you to him. Hint, hint.

To unsubscribe from the list, send a mail message to the following address:

Communicating with the automated mailer

You can send commands directly to the mailer to discover who is on the list, and so on.

Note that these commands can only be run by people already subscribed to the list.

All of these commands can be sent by email to "majordomo@alphasig.org" in the body (NOT the subject line):

In the description below items contained in []'s are optional. When providing the item, do not include the []'s around it. Items in braces, such as {address}, are meta-symbols that should be replaced by appropriate text without the angle brackets.

It understands the following commands:
subscribe {list} [ {address} ]   Subscribe yourself (or {address} if specified) to the named {list}.
unsubscribe {list} [ {address} ]   Unsubscribe yourself (or {address} if specified) from the named {list}. "unsubscribe *" will remove you (or {address}) from all lists. This _may not_ work if you have subscribed using multiple addresses.
get {list}   Get a file related to {list}.
index {list}   Return an index of files you can "get" for {list}.
which [ {address} ]   {address} Find out which lists you (or {address} if specified) are on.
who {list}   Find out who is on the named {list}.
info {list}   Retrieve the general introductory information for the named {list}.
intro {list}   Retrieve the introductory message sent to new users. Non-subscribers may not be able to retrieve this.
lists   Show the lists served by this Majordomo server.
help   Retrieve this message.
end   Stop processing commands (useful if your mailer adds a signature).
